Everyone is born an explorer. It’s how we discover our world and relationship to it. From the infant chewing on its toes trying to discover what is this foot thing all about, to the physicist studying gravitational waves; we all want to peer behind the curtain and understand the causes to the effects we see.
For many, the distractions of social media, Netflix, Xbox, — or the myriad responsibilities of adulting — overpowers the compulsion to explore. However, for some small few the craving is never satisfied and their drive to discover only grows with each new thing they learn.
This worked great for our species as we fanned out to investigate every nook, cranny, canyon and cave of our world. The spirit of exploration motivated those it possessed to fill in the regions of the world map labeled here be dragons; when those spaces were exhausted it directed our eyes to the heavens, then continued to the molecular, atomic, and subatomic scale of the universe.
